The problem many established professional realtors face is the understanding how to use social media to attract new customers. One seasoned professional that has sold hundreds of homes told me "If you look me up on Zillow, I look like a rookie. I only have 2 reviews" When I work with realtors the first thing I ask them to do is to google their full name, with the word realtor and the city where their office is. Most of the time the results are not impressive to say the least. With poor results, due to lack of reviews and engagement in social media I explain one of the fastest and easiest ways you can generate social proof is to get as many reviews as you can on several sites.
Lets talk about Social Proof and why it is critical to attract clients. Social Proof is according to a Harvard Business School study "Social proof is one of the six principles of persuasion, which maintains that people are especially likely to perform certain actions if they can relate to the people who performed the same actions before them." Meaning that people will base an opinion on information provided by others (even strangers).
Think of your own experiencing when looking for a product or a service. The first thing you notice are the reviews. Often times the reviews will determine if you click or don't click on a website. That is why Google ranks review sites like, Yelp, Zillow and even Facebook very high when people search for a realtor. They know people depend on those reviews to make a decision.
In future blogs I will provide you with steps to improve your social proof and attract more customers, the goal is to generate an online profile like the one shown with this post.
